Update (21 August).  Will Briggs follows up.  He thinks skipping class is a REALLY dumb idea.  I do too, but I tell my students that they’re adults now, and only they can prioritize their time, and I hope they’re interviewing for a fantastically well-paying job that will enable them to endow a teaching chair with my name on it.
