should be good for the gander.  My stocks and mutual funds get repriced by the market every day, and I certainly cannot claim that my cars are worth their sale prices.  Take all this with a grain of salt, however.  While Merton did share the 1997 Nobel Prize (he’s the one who didn’t get his name on the Black-Scholes model), he was also a major player in the catastrophic collapse of Long Term Capital Management.
