Brit Language Commissars get the horselaugh

Some city councils in Britain are banning "elitist" and "discriminatory" Latin words and phrases to avoid confusing immigrants.  The gang at Language Log declares the exercise to be politically correct "poppycock."  To steal a line from an old joke, Latin may be a bit difficult to learn, but what language did the dumb Roman kids speak?
