Hip to be green?

Los Angelenos are going to help SAVE THE PLANET by turning off unnecessary lights between 8 and 9pm on October 20, just like the cool kids in San Francisco and Sydney are doing.   Why don’t they just admit that what their Old Man told ’em as kids was right: "Hey, Doofus!  Turn off that damn light!  Whadda think, I’m made ‘a money?"  But n-o-o-o-o, they gotta have an Event, so they can all brag about it for weeks afterward, and bitch about their neighbor with the Halloween decorations who didn’t turn his lights off for one frickin’ hour. What dumbasses.
