The Counter-Jihad as Performance Art

The latest mutation in Lars Vilks’ modoggie project is the modified flag of Öland: "diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Öland now are worse than ever."  Vilks has converted the Cartoon Jihad into a political performance artwork that’s taking on a life of its own.

Update (18 September).  Vilks is now in hiding, under the advice of the Swedish police. A spokesman for the Religion of Peace wrote: “Help me kill thos who offended the Prophet”.
