The Lifeboat Foundation is suggesting some warning signs of the future. Several have immediate application: the Group Intellect and Memetic Hazard warnings could be posted at UTSA’s slacker corner, the hangout for all the chain-smoking, hacky-sack-playing low-rent-Goth gamers with soap allergies. Several of our developmental ed. and diversity workshops should have the Cognitive Hazard symbol prominently posted on the cover page of their handouts. My personal favorite is Existential Threat.
